Can One Size Fit All?

I've written previously on this blog regarding the concept that the Full Extent of Reality (including who we are and why we are here) is not necessarily our ideas, beliefs or perceptions. Put another way, what is unknown is more real than what we think we know.

It appears our human brain capacity has limits to comprehending ("wrapping our heads around") the vastness of Reality. However, we do know Reality encompasses infinity. For example, we're aware of numbers such as Pi. Mathematicians tell us the decimal representation of Pi never ends...

Yet, despite having some concept of infinity, our social constructs often seek to artificially place individuals into particular boxes built by others' perceptions. These boxes are painted with prison bars, and their walls appear solid, like bricks. However, Nature sends a few drops of rain, and we quickly realize these boxes are nothing but cardboard that melt away...

I travel deeper into this issue in my novel, "The STARLING Connection." Should we try to force individuals into "boxes" based on what we think or believe? Or should we try to better understand the Reality/realities that have created an individual? Why do people do what they do? And what are our social systems based on? Have we based our social "system" on love of the pursuit of knowledge/understanding? Or merely what a particular person or group perceives as "power"?

Without further explanation, here's our 15-year-old friend Simon Laramie speaking in a year of high technology, 2045. Simon is trying to survive (with some part of his humanity intact) in a world where super-computer controlled (pilot-less) drones kill individuals according to algorithms... The drones are controlled by a relatively small powerful elite who ruthlessly rule a global Plantation, a land of countless prisons and slave "wages," demanding absolute conformity and obedience... All under the disguise of "freedom" and "security."

Much of "The STARLING Connection" deals with cause & effect, the unknown, humanity, and the rights of individuals to express themselves...

A lot of crazy stuff’s happening right now at school.

Let’s just say I’m “downloading” everything that’s going on with me and my friends, from moment to moment, as everything’s happening. I’m putting it all in a very special, natural, sacred place that’s currently beyond the reach of PATRIOT SECURITY, The Drones and even TEMPLE.

Oh yeah, one other thing. I’m a boy, but I wear girls’ dresses sometimes.

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. OK, so I don’t know why I wear girls’ dresses, not exactly. But come on people, does it really matter that much? Who knows why everyone does everything they do? Seriously, I don’t understand why people would make such a big deal out of it.

Nobody really knows much about anything. But everybody acts like they do.

Who decides who you are? Society? Or Something Much Larger?
How real are our social constructs?
