Poetry in DNA - Literally!

Just saw this article, "Shakespeare's Sonnets Encoded in DNA" in "The Guardian" & blew me away you can encode poetry in our genetic makeup.

Here's a brief excerpt from the article:
"Written in DNA, one of Shakespeare's sonnets weighs 0.3 millionths of a millionth of a gram. One gram of DNA could hold as much information as more than a million CDs, the researchers said."

Makes you wonder what kinds of data could be stored genetically and for how long?

This is fascinating, and a little bit frightening. The future really is now.

So true. Definitely implications with this kind of information transmission.
