I'm taking a moment to personally thank my readers and to let you know I appreciate YOU.
I've noticed folks have downloaded books two ("Crucible,") three, ("Colossus"), and four ("Inferno") in the current e-book editions of "The STARLING Series."
I'm guessing folks have had an opportunity to finish the first book in the series, "Lifeline," thanks to some of us (hopefully) having a bit of downtime in the summer months. I'm glad you were intrigued enough to want to read further into the series. This makes me incredibly happy, because the four books represent a complete story arc that has a larger meaning by the time you reach the end of "The STARLING Connection." For those who haven't read any of the books yet, remember all four books are also available in one volume.
If you're enjoying these books, please take a moment to help me get the word out by SHARING the books link, http://www.amazon.com/The-STARLING-Connection-Quadrilogy-ebook/dp/B009AN3EU6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1373385779&sr=8-4&keywords=the+starling+connection, with all your friends on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Also take a quick minute to write a one-paragraph review on Amazon or your website. I'd love to get more feedback on the series and insights from my readers. Part of why I wrote these books was to learn something new, so please share your thoughts about the ideas that are presented in the story. I love to know what readers are thinking. Every review helps other people to understand what the books are about and helps to get the books further notice.
Every person's voice and insight is crucial and counts in building a larger awareness.
Most importantly, if you have a young person in your family, a teen or young adult, please let him or her know about "The STARLING Series." On one level this series was written as a guide to complement established historic guides, a guide not only for us adults, but for teens and young adults. I want as many teens and young adults to read it as possible and hope that it can help open their eyes to some problems that we all face, help to further spark their own critical thinking and help them to avoid some of the mistakes I've made in my life. I hope these books can be used as a tool by parents who are trying to educate and to help their children find hope.
Not to give away any spoilers, but if you read all four books, you'll learn what Simon Laramie learns by the time the Briarwood High School seniors graduate. You'll also meet the mysterious "stranger" in the giant sport utility vehicle limousine and see what happens to Jaya Ceyes, Flower Wildwind and Peter Arnold after they published their "illegal" and unauthorized SUPERNET profile called STARLING. Hopefully all of us will be able to see a bit through Simon's eyes and walk a little bit further in our neighbor's shoes.
I began thinking/writing "The STARLING Series" around 2005-2006 and worked on the books as much as I could while also working full time. Eventually I was able to finish "The STARLING Connection", recognizing the books are far from "perfect." I self-published electronically this past December because I felt I had been working on them too long and simply had to go ahead and get the books out into the world. The books have a strong message which I have thought out for many years as best I could, a message which of course, like the heroine of the books, Jaya Ceyes, I sign my real name to and for which I put my life on the line.
Several folks have asked for a print version of the books. I strongly support print books, as I have serious concerns about digital books being easily banned, unpublished, erased or altered, now and in the near-future. All I can say right now is bear with me. Best to think of me like that John Mellencamp song, "Small Town":

Well I was born in a small town
And I live in a small town
Prob'ly die in a small town
My hometown is a small town & I'm an "indie" (currently self-published) author. I happen to be a "one man" writing show right now (not that I'm advocating that necessarily ;-) Doing the best I can with what I have right now. I'll be sure to let you know as soon as I can develop a print version, schedule readings, etc., so you'll definitely have more opportunities to further experience "The STARLING Connection."
In the short term, I'm working on getting the books out through Smashwords for more electronic readers and greater access. I'm also developing ideas for a Volume Two in the series, which will most likely focus on Peter Arnold. I'll keep you posted. I continue to write poetry, much of which is centered on the issues raised in "The STARLING Series." I've also been working on a play, a comedy, centered around an interesting "shake-up" in a small town (more on that later).
Thanks again for reading and sharing. May The Great Spirit live forever in your hearts.
