Listen to internet radio with PennyJean on Blog Talk Radio
Enjoyed talking with Penny Jean Wednesday during her podcast of "The Bully Effect." The podcast is available above (you can listen to it anytime). My interview starts at 10 1/2 minutes into the podcast, so just go ahead and skip to 10:30.
Penny asked excellent questions about "The STARLING Series," and I was able to share my poem, "STAR BUS." I want to express my thanks to Penny for all the work she and others are doing to build awareness. We journey/stand together. Be sure to "Like" "The Bully Effect" on Facebook so you can be up-to-date with all upcoming podcasts and plenty of updates/information.
This excerpt from "The Bully Effect" Facebook page lets everyone know they are NOT alone. There are concerned people/voices out there who care and are reaching out:

"If you have been stepped on... kicked around..... beaten up.... called names to the point where you just wanna scream "Enough Already"... This page is for you..... I dedicate this to all whom have been bulled.. I dedicate my radio show "The Bully Effect."
"Let's stand together... Let's stop the bullying now.... Thanks... Penny Jean..... Host of "The Bully Effect"
I was glad to talk with Penny, as we share the same mission. Penny's dedication of "The Bully Effect" Facebook page is very similar to the dedication I wrote at the beginning of "The STARLING Connection," which is written to share love with all people who have been "beaten up, ostracized and left out." It's good to know others are out there working hard to share this message of overcoming bullying with love and hope for all people.
During the podcast, we discussed bullying in general and its effects on everyone. We also talked about cyber-bullying, which magnifies the adverse effects. Cyber-bullying, which can occur through social media, chat, text messaging or even a website, can happen 24/7, making it much more difficult for bullied kids to find relief. "The STARLING Connection," which is about four high school students struggling to create positive change in the year 2045, examines the connection between increased technology and bullying, among other key issues.
When you have a minute, go ahead and check out the interview/discussion on "The Bully Effect" podcast. Leave some comments below to let us know what you think.
What's your take on cyber-bullying? Is the vast, exponential increase of technology making bullying worse? Why or why not? I'm interested to know what others are thinking about this.
