One dark and not-so-stormy Halloween... I ran into a little green Visitor.
"We have been monitoring your brain from 10 to the power of 333 light years," he/she/it said, before plunging a knife into my head (see pics below).
The knife (according to the Visitor who came to West Virginia by way of Roswell, New Mexico) was ostensibly to dispel certain misconceptions related to the fast-paced development of cyborg-ism. But the only thing the knife did was give me a migraine, along with a pale, zombie-like, blood-spattered complexion.
Since aspirin wasn't doing the "Trick or Treat," I opted to drop by Swing Dance WVU's Halloween Swing Dance 2015, toting my vintage manual typewriter which the Visitor had secured on my behalf, thanks to Back-to-the-Future-1980s-inspired time travel.
Assaulting the non-computer's "clickety-rackety" keys with my index fingers,I composed a Singularity of unique, on-request New Poetry, inspired by the creative moves of the dancers and the live music of WVU Swing Band. Being surrounded by vintage vinyl (which the Visitor also managed to secure for me during his time travels), seemed to help with writing the New Poetry.
Twas wonderful to brave the cobwebs Oct. 31 with friends, old & new. Enjoyed running into Jerry Causby, Gretchen Corona, and many other friends and acquaintances. Special thanks to Swing Dance WVU, David and Amy Loomis, photographer Emily Jewson (thanks for the pics below!) & all the cool, creative dancers who stopped by to say "Boo! Happy Halloween!"
Hopefully next year, my Visitor friend will let go of my arm long enough so that I can coax the Zombies out of hiding and onto the stage (Mara Monaghan).
