"Zombie Texts from the Future" Thursday & Friday night shows were a blast!

Remember, tonight is the LAST night you'll be able to see the show. Don't miss it! Starts at 8 p.m. at Monongalia Arts Center, 107 High St., downtown Morgantown, West Virginia. Come a little early if you like & hang out with us.

Appreciation to Daily Athenaeum photographer Andrew Spellman and writer Westley Thompson for covering the show. You can read Westley's insightful review on the DA website. Here's an excerpt:
Overall, the play was a lot of fun to see. It entertained the whole way through, and each joke was spot on. Due to its short length, “Zombie Texts from the Future” makes an ideal date night activity before the holiday festivities begin this weekend.
Audience was absolutely incredible, bringing phenomenal energy to all the shows (YOU are appreciated!)

Wish I could name everybody who joined us, being part of the show/co-creating the experience. But there were too many people for me to keep track of & friends brought friends & some folks I'm just getting to know...

Just off the top of my head, I want to mention friends who joined us at "Zombie Texts" over the past few shows:

  • Donald Fidler the playwright who founded the Playwrights Group in Morgantown. I have tremendous respect for Don's work. Being a veteran, my favorite play of his (indeed, in the top 10 of my favorite plays of all time) is "Boogieban" which I saw here in Morgantown at M.T. Pockets Theatre with Don as Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence Caplan and Travis Teffner as Specialist Jason Wynsky. Don & the other playwrights, particularly Dwight Harshbarger & Judith Stitzel, here in Morgantown have taught me a lot. I'm still learning & appreciate their time, positive energy & sharing their own creative work which has influenced me strongly.
  • Morgantown director/actor David Beach, who is co-directing and co-starring with director/actor/musician Shenendoah Thompson in John Logan's Tony-award winning play, "RED," which they are taking to the West Virginia Theatre Association's Community Theatre Festival on Saturday, Nov. 8 in Bridgeport, West Virginia. You can learn more & support their effort by going to their page here on Indiegogo. "RED" follows the artist Mark Rothko and his assistant, Ken, as they prepare the murals for the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York City in the late 1950s. Note: Music fans, you can listen to Shenendoah Thomson & Stephanie Loch LIVE beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8 on U92's "Morgantown Sound." Join the event.
  • Dave Knight, Courtney Patient, Marisa Terwilliger & other members of Creative Writing Club at WVU. I had an enjoyable meeting with Dave, Courtney & Marisa the other week at Black Bear. We had a good discussion of creative writing & I greatly enjoyed hearing their work. Hope to hear more!
  • Family & friends of the cast & crew who came to see the show & support their hard work over September & October rehearsing, building set and more. We LOVE you!
  • Morgantown Poets pals, including poet Jeff Barnes who writes very creative & heartfelt pieces. You MUST come hear Jeff & other amazing poets at 7 p.m. third Thursday of each month at Morgantown Poets @ Monongalia Arts Center.
  • Tom Milne and Justin Grow who played Floyd Spinner & Leslie (respectively) in the MACPlayers production of "Love, Sex & the IRS." This was a hilarious show with incredible talent which influenced me quite a bit & among inspirations for "Zombie Texts," particularly the idea of keeping the show moving, keeping it funny & using a window for perspective... Tom is active with MACPlayers (MACP) Improv Group which is a lot of fun & a big draw. MAC Improv Group meets on Sundays.
  • More friends I enjoyed seeing & thank for joining us include Kendall Eby, Jeff Jasper, Sarah Beth Grant & friends & enjoyed making new friends, including Milly Mullins, Darby Kale and others...

Again, we hope you can join us for the last showing 8 p.m. tonight at the MAC. Share the FB event with all your friends!
